Director Prashant Varma initially approached Hombale Films to produce the ambitious film Jai Hanuman with Rishab Shetty in the lead.
The project was expected to take shape under the prestigious banner that gained nationwide recognition with the Kantara franchise.
However, developments behind the scenes changed the course of the project, leading to a shift in production plans.
Sources indicate that Rishab Shetty has developed a strained relationship with Hombale Films. The banner rose to great prominence with Kantara and later expanded its reach with the Kantara 2, creating a massive fortune and brand value through the franchise.
However, disagreements reportedly surfaced between Rishab Shetty and the banner regarding certain financial matters, leading to friction between the two sides.
As a result of this fallout, Prashant Varma’s Jai Hanuman project has been moved away from Hombale Films and is now being planned under Mythri Movie Makers.
With the relationship between Rishab Shetty and Hombale Films turning sour, industry circles believe that the Kantara series may not continue further in the future.
