BJP MLA's Satire: 'Governance Is Too Kamma-Focused'

Jammalamadugu MLA and senior BJP leader Adinarayana Reddy made a sharp satirical comment on the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the BJP’s Kamala Vikasam programme in Tirupati, he took a dig at the ruling alliance in his trademark style.

Adinarayana Reddy recalled an old incident from 1983. He said he once asked noted poet Gajjala Malla Reddy how NTR’s rule was. The poet had then replied sarcastically that the rule was “Kamma-ga” (Kamma-centric).

“Even now, it feels the same,” Adinarayana Reddy remarked, adding, “You all know what I mean.” His comment drew loud whistles and applause from BJP workers. Readmore!

He openly alleged that under Chandrababu Naidu’s rule, priority is being given mainly to people from his own community.

Adinarayana Reddy demanded equal importance for all castes in governance. He also made a bold statement that without BJP, there would be no TDP or Jana Sena in the state.

He asserted that BJP is the key force in the coalition but is not being given its due importance.

His open remark that the government looks like a “Kamma government” has now become a hot topic of discussion.

Observers say if this is what is being said on stage, one can imagine the off-record talk within the government circles.

The comment has once again exposed internal discomfort within the ruling alliance.
