Adivi Sesh, who has been relentlessly working for the past couple of years on two different projects, both of which he has also written, will be seen in a completely mass avatar in his next outing, Dacoit.
Directed by debutant Shaniel Deo, with Mrunal Thakur playing the female lead, the film also marks the Tollywood debut of Bollywood actor-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The teaser of Dacoit, unveiled earlier today, has received an instant and strong response.
Speaking about the film, Sesh said, “We shot the movie in two languages—a proper Telugu version and a proper Hindi version. It’s a film made together by a Telugu guy and a Hindi guy, and we co-wrote the script. Shaniel Deo is my best friend from the US, and technically, he made Dacoit in an American style. On set, we received invaluable guidance from Anurag Kashyap. Mrunal Thakur is the crown jewel of our film—the heart she put into her performance is truly next level.”
Sesh added that the film exists primarily because of Supriya Yarlagadda, who mounted it on an international scale. “Mixing Kanne Pittaro into the film was her idea. We are proud that Annapurna Studios is presenting the film, with Suniel Narang and Janhvi Narang also producing it,” he said.
He further revealed that the theatrical trailer and songs have already been cut, with each piece of content set to reveal something new.
Sesh also confirmed that the Hindi teaser, scheduled to be launched later this evening at a Mumbai event, will be different from the Telugu version.
