When YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was in power, the entire area around his camp office and residence at Tadepalli was virtually converted into a fortress.
The area, which is the most posh locality, had several villas owned by high profile people, industrialists and politicians.
But with Jagan having his residence there and converting the adjacent building into a camp office, there was no way they could stay there.
As a result, the YSRCP took the villas around Jagan’s residence and the camp office on lease and used them as guest houses for the top party leaders, Jagan’s personal staff and also for holding private meetings.
Now that Jagan lost power, everything has changed. The party vacated the villas around Jagan’s residence. The security posts around the area have been removed.
The police authorities removed all the barricades in front of the camp office and opened the route for common public.
According to sources, a few Telugu Desam Party MLAs and ministers have now taken over the villas around Jagan’s residence and camp office and converted them into their residences.
“Since it is closer to the secretariat and there is no other better and posh locality around Tadepalli with all the facilities, they have preferred to stay there,” sources said.
It would mean, Jagan would be surrounded by the TDP leaders and he would have to witness all the hungama at their residences every day. Naturally, it would be a big embarrassment for him.
It would be interesting to see what Jagan would do now – whether he would stay there or shift to some other place.
