Naidu announces good news for employees!

The newly-formed Telugu Desam Party-led National Democratic Alliance government in Andhra Pradesh, headed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has provided significant relief to state government employees.

On Thursday, the Naidu government issued orders extending the five-day work week for state government employees by another year, until June 27, 2025, as the existing rule expired on the same day.

State Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad issued a Government Order (GO) extending the five-day work week facility for another year. This decision was made in response to a representation submitted by the AP Secretariat Employees’ Federation.

The five-day work week applies to employees of the AP Secretariat, all directorates, commissionerates, and state-level corporations. Readmore!

The Chief Secretary stated that employees would remain in office from 10 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

The TDP government introduced the five-day work week in June 2016, following the relocation of offices from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh’s new capital, Amaravati.

The facility has been extended annually since then, as the new capital is not fully developed and employees have not yet fully settled in.
