Ashok Gajapathi Raju is social media choice!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is yet to begin a serious exercise on filling up of important nominated posts in various government bodies, but social media have already started speculating on who would get what post.

One such speculation is about former Union minister and veteran TDP leader Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who did not contest the recent general elections from Andhra Pradesh.

Social media has already nominated him to the post of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman.

According to these speculations, Naidu has finalised the name of Ashok Gajapathi Raju for the TTD chairman post and has conveyed a message to this effect to the veteran leader.  Readmore!

The post is lying vacant ever since the resignation of YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy within hours of the party losing power to the TDP on June 4.

Ashok, who hails from a royal family of Surya dynasty in Vizianagaram, has been the managing trustee of several temples.

He is a non-controversial leader and god-fearing and hence, Naidu thought he is the most suitable person for the TTD chairman post, the social media said.

Interestingly, a lot of congratulatory messages have been pouring in from the TDP rank and file from all parts of the state, hailing Ashok’s proposed appointment as the TTD chief, though no final decision has been taken yet.

Sources said there are, however, several other contenders for the TTD chairman post, including veteran film director K Raghavendra Rao, film producer Ashwini Dutt and former TDP MLA S V S N Varma.

Even the name of former minister Daggubati Venkateshwar Rao is in the reckoning, say sources.
