43 from Telugu states crack India's toughest UPSC exam

Donuru Ananya Reddy, hailing from Mahbubnagar and a graduate of Miranda House, University of Delhi, achieved the third position in the esteemed UPSC civil services examination (CSE) for the year 2023. She stands among the 43 candidates from her state who cracked the rigorous exam.

Aditya Srivastava, presently undergoing IPS training at the National Police Academy (NPA), and Animesh Pradhan, an employee at Indian Oil Corp., secured the first and second positions, respectively. Following them, P.K. Sidharth Ramkumar and Ruhani, also undergoing IPS training at the NPA, clinched the fourth and fifth positions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his X posts, extended his support to the unsuccessful aspirants, emphasizing that opportunities for success still lie ahead. He highlighted India's abundance of opportunities where their talents can truly shine.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy congratulated the successful candidates from the Telugu states, attributing the selection of nearly 50 candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to the talent and dedication within these states. He particularly commended D. Ananya Reddy from Palamuru for securing the third rank nationally.

Ananya Reddy, despite her background in geography, chose anthropology as her optional subject, driven by a lifelong aspiration to serve society through civil services. She is the first in her family to embark on this path. Ananya dedicated 12 to 14 hours a day to her studies in preparation for the exam.

A total of 43 candidates from the Telugu states successfully navigated the challenging three-tier selection process, comprising the preliminary, mains, and personality test.

Anupriya Nenavath, from Balanagar in Mahbubnagar, secured the 914th rank on her third attempt, crediting her husband, parents, and in-laws for their unwavering support throughout her journey.

Chittapuli Narendra Padal, ranking 545th, pursuing his masters in political science at Osmania University, expressed gratitude to his family and mentors for their guidance and support.

Gopalakrishna, director of a coaching institute in the city, highlighted the consistent trend of producing successful candidates from the twin states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, noting the expectation for this trend to endure.
