No new schemes in Jagan manifesto, old ones to improve!

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday released his party’s manifesto for the next month’s assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The new manifesto, comprising just two pages was released in 2019, has no new schemes as such. But it has promised the same old Navaratna schemes, with increased allotment of funds and improved delivery of the benefits to the people.

The major promises made in the party manifesto are: Enhancement of financial assistance under Amma Vodi scheme from Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000 per year; zero interest loans for self-help group women up to Rs 3 lakh; increase in social security pensions to Rs 3,500 per month in two instalments; houses for middle income group people at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore; enhancement of Rythu Bharosa amount from Rs 13,500 to Rs 16,000; and continuation of schemes like YSR Cheyutha, YSR Kapu Nestham, Shadi Tofa, Housing Scheme and Arogya Sri.

Stating that the manifesto would like a Bible, Quran, and Bhagavad Gita for him, Jagan vowed to implement it to the fullest.

“These past 58 months will be etched forever in our country's history as over 99% of the manifesto promises have been successfully implemented by YSRCP,” he said.

He said over the last 5 years, the Navaratnalu schemes have seen over 99% implementation.

“We've deposited Rs 2.68 lakh crore directly into beneficiaries' accounts through DBT (direct benefit transfer) and Rs 1.78 lakh crore through non-DBT methods. We've allocated Rs 26,067 crore for the AmmaVodi scheme, Rs 4275 crore to the Jagananna Vasati Devena, Rs 12,609 crore to the Jagananna Vidya Deevena, and Rs 34,378 crore to YSR Rythu Bharosa,” he claimed.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic and revenue losses that happened thereafter, the government never made any excuses and meticulously executed our manifesto with a smile.

“We can't compete with Chandrababu's fraudulent promises, but we can show our commitment to the people. This government is different from the previous one – we don't make empty promises. We deliver, and that's our legacy,” Jagan asserted.
