A week after reshuffling his council of ministers, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy focused on strengthening the party at the district level.
Though there were reports that Jagan was planning to do away with the concept of appointing in-charge ministers for the districts to coordinate between the party and the government, Jagan took a quick decision to continue the system.
He appointed in-charge ministers for all the 26 new districts. They are: Guntur: Dharmana Prasada Rao; Kakinada – Seediri Appalraju, Srikakulam – Botsa Satyanarayana; Anakapalle – P Rajanan Dora; Parvathipuram – G Amarnath; Vizianagaram – Muthyala Naidu;
West Godavari: Dadishetty Raja; Eluru- P Vishwarup; East Godavari – Venugopala Krishna; NTR: Taneti Vanitha; Palandu: Karumuri; Bapatla: Satyanarayana; Amalapuram: Jogi Ramesh; Ongole: Meruga Nagarjuna; Visakhapatnam: Vidadala Rajini; Krishna: Roja; Nellore: Ambati Rambabu; Kadapa: Adimulapu Suresh;
Annamayya: Kakani Goverdhan; Anantapur: Peddireddy; Tirupati: Narayana Swamy; Nandyal: Amzad Pasha; Kurnool: Buggana; Satya Sai: G Jayaram; Chittoor: Ushasri Charan.
At the same time, party general secretary and advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced YSRC presidents for districts. Chittoor: K J Bharat; Anantapur: Kapu Ramachandra Reddy; Satya Sai: Shankar Narayaan; NTR: Vellampally; Guntur: Sucharita; Kurnool: Bala Nagi Reddy; Nellore: Vemireddy; Bapatla: Mopidevi; Nandyal: Katasani; Guntur: Kodali Nani; Annamayya: Srikanth Reddy; Kadapa: Suresh Babu; Tirupati: Chevireddy; Prakasam: Madhusudhan Yadav.
Besides, Sajjala also announced regional coordinators for 11 districts. While Peddireddy would take care of Chittoor, Anantapur, Satya Sai and Annamayya districts; Anil Kumar would look after Kadapa and Tirupati, Balineni for Nellore and Bapatla; Kodali Nani for Guntur and Marri Rajasekhar for NTR and Krishna districts.
