Nandyal MP S P Y Reddy critical?

Sitting MP from Nandyal and industrialist S P Y Reddy has been hospitalised and his condition is said to be critical.

According to reports, Reddy suffered heart stroke and was immediately rushed to Care Hospitals in Banjara Hills.

Doctors, who have attended on him in the intensive care unit, are learnt to have told the family members that he is in a critical condition.

Reddy, who owns popular Nandi brand of cement pipes, is the Jana Sena Party candidate from Nandyal in Kurnool district.

He is a two-time MP from the constituency, first on the Congress ticket in 2009 and then on YSR Congress party ticket in 2014.

However, he later defected to the Telugu Desam Party and had been loyal to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.

However, in the ongoing elections, Naidu told him he could not give him the MP ticket from Nandyal again as the chances of his victory were not good.

Yet, Reddy waited till the last moment for the TDP ticket and after failing to get the ticket, he switched over to Jana Sena Party headed by actor Pawan Kalyan.

With all good faith, Pawan gave him the MP ticket for Nandyal, MLA ticket for his daughter Aravinda Rani from Banganapalli and son-in-law Sridhar Reddy from Nandyal assembly seat.

Three of them have already started campaigning in their constituencies. Apparently, Reddy realised that his chances of winning the seat are bleak and that might have caused him a lot of stress leading to heart attack.

Interestingly, Naidu tried to woo Reddy and his family back into the TDP. He offered MLC seat to SPY and prominent posts to daughter and son-in-law and asked them to support the TDP in Nandyal. But having already filed the nominations, he could not go back.
