Naidu to play Amaravati card in polls?

Even as YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going all out to erase the picture of Amaravati as the capital of the state once and for all, his arch rival and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t want to give up the fight for Amaravati.

On Friday, Naidu declared that Amaravati will remain the capital city of Andhra Pradesh and it will get back all its lost glory once the YSR Congress party is routed out of power in the next elections.

“Take it from me. Amaravati will be back with a bang as the capital of Andhra Pradesh within nine months. The moment the TDP comes back to power in the next assembly elections, we shall restore Amaravati with all its glory,” Naidu announced at the meeting i-TDP representatives at Mangalagiri.

He called upon the i-TDP activists to make a vigorous campaign on Amaravati and tell the people that if the TDP comes to power in the next elections, it is going to reconstruct the capital city at Amaravati. Readmore!

“We embarked on building a world-class capital city at Amaravati when we were in power. But the YSRC government has destroyed the capital city. While we had re-written the history of Amaravati, Jagan damaged the history,” he  criticised.

“Amaravati doesn’t go anywhere. We shall speed up the process after we return to power within nine months. We shall rewrite the new history of Amaravati and nobody can stall it. I am sure Amaravati will become one of the best capital cities in the world,” Naidu asserted.
