YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who went all out to come to power in 2019 elections, engaged popular political strategist Prashant Kishor to work out strategies for him to pull down Telugu Desam Party president led by N Chandrababu Naidu from power.
The meticulous strategies including innovative publicity campaign, designing of populist schemes and huge social media campaign by Indian Political Action Committee promoted by Prashant Kishor helped Jagan immensely in the last elections and he could come to power with a huge majority.
On the other hand, Naidu was overconfident of his political acumen so much that he did not engage any agency to work out the political strategies for him.
He took the people for granted, believing that his last-minute populist schemes would help him return to power for a second successive term.
Now that Naidu is thrown out of power, he is losing no time to regain his lost glory.
Though more than four years and eight months to go for the next elections, the TDP chief has decided to revive the party’s fortunes and win back the people’s confidence, while exposing the alleged misrule of the YSRC government.
For that, sources said, Naidu has engaged a consultant by name Robbin Sharma, who had earlier worked with Prashant Kishor in I-PAC.
The TDP chief is learnt to have hired this gentleman after thorough consultations with his party leaders and experts, for a remuneration of Rs 50 crore.
At the same time, Naidu is also said to be banking on some senior journalists closer to him and working for pro-TDP media houses to gather information on the policies of the Jagan government and give him a regular feedback.
Apparently, these reporters are taking part in the teleconferences being held by Naidu every day.
Let us how far the new strategies will come to the help of Naidu in resurrecting the party and bringing it back to power in 2024.
