The Gram Panchayat elections and the municipal elections have thrown some light on the main supporters of Amaravati movement.
As it appears, TDP chief and former chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, who conceived the Amaravati project, in 2015 said that Amaravati’s future is depended on the verdict of the people of Guntur and Vijayawada and asked them to vote against three capitals proposal of YSR Congress and vote for single Amavarati capital of TDP.
But the result was against the TDP and its Amaravati agenda in both Guntur and Vijayawada.
Ramoji Rao’s Eenadu group too had been supporting the Amaravati movement for the past 452 days.
There was not a single day when Amaravati movement news was not appeared in the past 452 days.
But, when the results of the municipal elections were out on Sunday, Ramoji Rao dropped the Amaravati movement news.
Interestingly, Chandrababu Naidu gave Amaravati name to the new capital only after an editorial page article published in Eenadu in the name of Ramoji Rao in early 2016.
Now, with Ramoji Rao dropping his support to the Amaravati movement and people voting against Chandrababu Naidu’s call in favour of Amaravati.
As the results were against his call, it appears as if Naidu is also preparing to be silent on the movement, indicating that it would be closed any day from now.
