Naidu in Delhi with begging bowl again!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday left for New Delhi, apparently with a begging bowl to seek more funds from the Centre to meet the state expenses.

According to official sources, Naidu will be there in the national capital for two days – Friday and Saturday. He is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, besides other ministers.

“He is likely to ask the Prime Minister and other ministers to see that the allocations made to the state in the recent Union budget be released at the earliest. Besides, he might also ask for restructuring of some old loans, so that it would reduce the burden on the state,” sources said.

Naidu might request Nirmala Sitaraman to take forward the proposal with the World Bank on the special financial assistance to Amaravati pledged in the Union budget. A World Bank team has already visited the capital region last week and inspected the ongoing works. Readmore!

Interestingly, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy, too, left for New Delhi on Thursday night itself. His mission is purely political, as he has to take the high command’s permission to expand his cabinet, besides finalising the appointment of new chief for Pradesh Congress Committee.

He would also brief the party high command about the outcome of his recent visit to the US and South Korea to attract investments to the state, sources said.
