Nadda joins TDP foundation day fete: What's up?

The sudden appearance of Bharatiya Janata Party national president J P Nadda at the Telugu Desam Party foundation day celebrations in Parliament annexe on Wednesday raised many an eyebrow.

The TDP MPs – Galla Jayadev, Kesineni Nani and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, apart from other TDP leaders, were celebrating the TDP foundation day after garlanding the statue of party founder and former chief minister N T Rama Rao at Parliament annexe.

As the TDP leaders were cutting the cake to mark the party’s 41st foundation day celebrations and distributing the pieces to other fellow MPs, Nadda came there and extended greetings to the TDP leaders.

He also offered floral tributes to NTR, as the TDP leaders were in a jubilant mood. Kanakamedala explained the close association between the TDP and the BJP since the days of Atal Bihari Vajyapee and the party’s role in the NDA. Readmore!

According to the party sources, Nadda said he was very much aware of the friendly relations between the TDP and BJP and that recalled the glorious days of NTR in the TDP. He spent some time with the TDP leaders, posed for photographs and left the place.

The TDP leaders are said to be on cloud nine with the development. They recalled how Nadda tweeted about the victory of the TDP-BJP combine during the recent mayor elections in Andaman and Nicobar islands.

“This is a positive development, though the BJP is still indecisive in forging an alliance with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh elections,” a party source said.
