'Masooda' is going to be released in theatres on November 18. Producer Rahul Yadav Nakka of Swadharm Entertainment has produced the movie.
He is the producer of 'Malli Raava' and 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya' fame. Directed by newcomer Sai Kiran, the film was today screened for young Tollywood directors ahead of its theatrical release. They loved the performances, the story, the thrills, and the production values.
Swaroop RSJ of 'Agent..' fame, Venkatesh Maha of 'Care Of Kancharapalem' fame, Vivek Athreya of 'Brochevarevarura', Vinod Ananthoju of 'Middle Class Melodies', Sandeep Raj of 'Colour Photo' fame appreciated the movie. They said that 'Masooda', a horror drama, has been made in an age when horror movies have become synonymous with horror-comedies. They praised the movie's technical values as well. They said that the film might become as popular as 'Ammoru' and 'Devi', standing as an inspiration for several such movies to be made in the future. They lauded director Sai Kiran for creating an atmosphere of horror in the film. Masooda's visual effects were also praised.
Producer Rahul Yadav Nakka began his speech by condoling Superstar Krishna's demise and extending sympathies to Mahesh Babu and others. About 'Masooda', he said that the film is a genuine one. "Watch it in theatres for a terrific and horrific experience. We are confident of scoring a hit," he added.
Swaroop RSJ said that 'Masooda' is a proper horror movie that must be watched only in a theatre. "Each and every department has done a great job. We were thrilled while watching the movie. When I was told 'Masooda' is a horror movie months ago, I presumed it must be a routine one. But I am genuinely shocked upon watching it today. Music, sound effects, cinematography and other elements are awesome," he added.
Venkatesh Maha said, "These days, new directors are not interested in making horror movies. I too am like them. But 'Masooda' is a different experience altogether. Sai's vision is amazing. It truly scared me. This is a visual horror movie. The sounding, music are great. I wish the team all the best."
Vinod Anantoju said, "Horror movies have become routine of late. Horror is supposed to be generated not by showing the ghost but by creating a spooky atmosphere through other means. 'Masooda' achieves that. This has to be watched in a theatre, not on a smartphone. I appreciate producer Rahul for believing in the story."
Vivek Athreya said, "When you are watching an 'Ammoru' or a 'Kantara', you are scared that the characters might be harmed. 'Masooda' subjects you to a similar experience. It takes a lot of technical knowledge to make a horror movie. The performances are great. The balloon sound that comes in the movie gave me chills. It's not an easy task to give RR to horror movies. 'Masooda' is technically brilliant."
Director Sai Kiran said, "Ahead of the film's release, I am nervous thinking about the audience's response. I thank producer Rahul for the opportunity. 'Masooda' is a fiction. I thank everyone for working on it. Masooda is a negative character. And the story is narrated from her perspective. That's why the title."
Thiruveer said, "I have done scary characters as a villain and negative characters. When 'Masooda' came my way, I didn't want to lose the opportunity at any cost. They gave me the full script to read. I love dramas. I was surprised when Swadharm Entertainment approached me. I thank them for the opportunity."
Composer Prashanth R Vihari said, "This is my first horror movie. It's not easy to scare through sounds. Our film is coming out tomorrow. Please watch it."
Art Director Kranthi said, "This is my third film with the production house. For Sangeetha garu, this is going to be her third great movie after 'Shivaputrudu' and 'Khadgam'."
Cinematographer Nagesh Bannell thanked the producer. He also appreciated director Sai Kiran for executing his vision with efficiency.
