Senior Congress leader and former MP Madhu Yashki Goud, who missed the bus in making it to the post of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president, is learnt to have chosen for a prime posting in the All India Congress Committee.
According to reports from New Delhi, the Congress high command has chosen Madhu Yashki as the general secretary of the AICC. He is likely to be made the in-charge of the party affairs in Odisha.
Yashki, who represented Nizamabad parliamentary constituency between 2009 and 2014, lost to Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha in 2014.
In 2019, he contested again from Nizamabad, but lost to Dharmapuri Arvind of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In 2023, Yashki was made the campaign committee chairman of the TPCC, though he was aspiring for the PCC chief post.
He was later given the party ticket from L B Nagar assembly constituency, but he lost the assembly elections with a big margin to Sudhir Reddy of the BRS.
He was in the race for PCC chief post after Revanth Reddy became the chief minister, but the post finally went to Mahesh Kumar Goud, another BC leader.
Meanwhile, reports said PCC working president Jetti Kusum Kumar is also being elevated to the post of AICC secretary.
And veteran OBC leader and former MP Vuthpulla Hanumantha Rao will be given AICC National Chairman of OBC department, sources added.
