Liger: Is It Tailor-Made Only For North Indians?

"Liger" is the big film coming up in Telugu after 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata'. This is releasing as a pan India film with Karan Johar promoting the Hindi version.

But is the required craze to bring in thumping openings happening?

Coming to the trailer and other stuff, it looks like any other typical Puri Jagannath's film for Telugu audience without adding any freshness.

Vijay Devarakonda factor is the only added phenomenon for this film as far as Telugu version is concerned. Readmore!

An insider says that 'Liger' will be another 'Amma Nanna Tamil Ammayi' made in the 'Romantic' genre.

The beach song, the loud lines in Hindi and the ambience remind the Telugu audience of Aakash Puri's 'Romantic'.

The major problem with the Telugu version is its language and nativity. If the audience gets a feel that they are watching a dubbed film, they may not show their complete patronage and the film suffers mainly in B and C centers.

The film is sold at a higher price in Telugu but the trailer and the songs look like it's a dubbed version.

Though Vijay Devarakonda claimed that we are showing the southern taste to Bollywood, it looks the other way round.

Puri Jagannath has no big hit to his credit except iSmart Shankar in the last many years. So, Vijay Devarakonda is the bankable factor here for a high investment.

On the other hand this may promise something fresh for the north Indian audience as Puri Jagannath holds a unique mark in his making style.

Nevertheless, we shouldn't forget the result of Buddha Hoga Tera Baap which Puri Jagannath made earlier in Hindi. But now the hero in 'Liger' is the young hunk which is an advantage.

The pre-release assumption is that the film 'Liger' for different reasons may hold the interest of audiences in the Northern belt than that of Telugu. We have to see what is in store.
