Konda provoking Revanth to launch new party?

Industrialist-turned-politician and former MP from Chevella Konda Vishweshwar Reddy appears to be bringing psychological pressure on Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy to launch a new regional party in Telangana.

Konda, who recently resigned from the Congress party, have been sending confusing messages to his supporters and followers. There were reports that he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party, but he said he had no such plans.

Later, he said he would take a call on whether he should come back to the Congress or join the BJP. At the same time, he said he might rejoin the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, provided chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K T Rama Rao step down from the party.

In his latest talk, Konda said there are chances that he might float a new regional party in the state with the support of anti-TRS forces in the state. Readmore!

He even declared that he would personally meet all the opponents of KCR and work out the strategy.

At the same time, Konda tried to provoke Revanth Reddy. He wondered why Revanth was still clinging to the Congress, which had lost its fighting spirit despite the atrocious rule of the TRS.

“I have quit the Congress only because it has no capacity to fight the TRS. But Revanth still seems to have some hope on the Congress,” he said.

Apparently, Revanth, too, is waiting for the right time to get out of the Congress party. If the Congress wins Nagarjunasagar by-elections, there is some chance that the party might bounce back by next elections. In such a case, Revanth might continue with the Congress.

But if the Congress fails to win the seat, then the chances of the party being revived in the state would be bleak. So, Revanth might come out and join hands with Konda to float a new regional party, source said.
