Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday confirmed her plans to float a new regional party in Telangana, as an alternative to the Congress, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Interacting with social media users during an hour-and-a-half-long engagement under the hashtag #AskKavitha on X, Kavitha responded in detail to a wide range of questions on her political vision, the future roadmap of Telangana Jagruti, and what she described as the failures of the Congress government in the state.
She reaffirmed that the creation of a “Social Telangana” remains her core political objective. She categorically announced that her organisation Telangana Jagruthi would contest the 2029 elections.
Clarifying speculation over the launch of a new political party, Kavitha stated that Telangana Jagruti would enter the electoral arena in 2029.
She added that the name of the party would be finalised based on suggestions from the public.
Emphasising empowerment, she said youth and women must be encouraged to pursue opportunities in fields of their choice, and Jagruti would actively work to create political opportunities for them.
Kavitha stressed that true empowerment of Telangana could only be achieved by ensuring access to high-quality, free education and healthcare.
She asserted that a situation should emerge where parents in Telangana do not have to spend even a single rupee on their children’s education.
When asked to prioritise between jobs, skills, and security, she said job creation for youth would be her top priority, while also ensuring their safety and long-term security.
She further announced that Telangana Jagruti would soon launch a membership drive, adding that committees formed by the organisation already reflect representation from all sections of society. The movement for social justice, she said, would continue with renewed vigour.
Answering lighter questions, Kavitha described actor Ram Charan as a humble person and a good dancer, but said she was primarily a fan of megastar Chiranjeevi. She fondly recalled her childhood days spent in Erramanzil as some of her happiest memories.
Responding calmly to a suggestion that she should focus on business instead of politics, Kavitha advised netizens not to be influenced by negativity on social media and to think positively.
