Jokes On Rs 100Cr For 'Chatrapathi'

Bellamkonda Srinivas is an actor from Tollywood who is pushing his limits to try his luck in Bollywood. For that, he has chosen Prabhas' 2005 film 'Chatrapathi'. Although Rajamouli directed the original version, VV Vinayak directed the Hindi version with Bellamkonda.

The makers are now worried about its publicity. Initially, Srinivas ventured into Hindi cinema with millions of views on his Hindi-dubbed film on YouTube. However, viewers watch YouTube movies for free.

When the same hero whom they patronized on YouTube comes with a new film in theaters, there is no hard and fast rule that they will continue to do so.

Pan-India heroes like Rishab Shetty of Kantara, Yash of KGF, Bunny with Pushpa, and Nikhil with Kartikeya have become popular from their native industries. However, many people believe that Bellamkonda trying in Bollywood with a direct film is beyond his talent and reach. Readmore!

So far, he has not established himself as an endearing hero in the Telugu film industry. He could not pull the attention of the audience with either talent or mass following.

Furthermore, the makers boast that they have spent Rs. 100 Cr on this remake project. However, the buyers are not showing interest as it has no pull factor. OTT platforms are also not showing much interest.

The 'Chatrapathi' story itself is 18 years old, and almost a generation has gone by. The idea of remaking an old classic itself is catastrophic, and the recent example of 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' which was made from a 30-year-old film 'Forrest Gump,' was rejected by the audience.

Therefore, the Rs. 100 Cr investment in Bellamkonda's 'Chatrapathi' is being ridiculed more than anything else.
