JD to join hands with RSP in Telangana?

After making an unsuccessful attempt to foray into electoral politics on behalf of Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh, retired IPS officer and former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) V V Lakshminarayana seems to be keen on trying his luck in Telangana.

Lakshminarayana is likely to join hands with another retired IPS officer from Telangana Dr R S Praveen Kumar, who recently joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) at a grand public meeting held in Nalgonda.

Incidentally, both the IPS officers had taken voluntary retirement from service to try their luck in politics.

Lakshminarayana unsuccessfully contested from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency in 2019 general elections on Jana Sena ticket and subsequently quit the party. Readmore!

In an interview to a digital media channel, Lakshminarayana said Praveen Kumar happened to be his good old friend and both of them had been in touch with each other for a long time.

“I am a great fan of Praveen and I admire his dedication to the service of the downtrodden,” he said.

Stating that Praveen Kumar had groomed lakhs of Dalit students into meritorious candidates and helped them reach new highs, Lakshminarayana said it was heartening that the officer had quit his service to enter politics.

“I was the first person to congratulate Praveen Kumar. I believe in the statement of Dr B R Ambedkar that political power is master key. Praveen Kumar is following this path to lead the Bahujans towards power,” he said.

Lakshminarayana did not rule out the possibility of joining hands with Praveen Kumr in future.

“We may work together in the coming days. I have kept all my options open. Both of us have a common ideology – of achieving power to the downtrodden,” he said.
