TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's brainchild "Amaravathi capital city" came to a standstill after TDP lost recent Assembly polls and YS Jaganmohan Reddy became CM.
All construction works in Amaravathi have been halted after CM Jagan directed officials to inquire into irregularities in land pooling, in awarding contracts and also in making land allotments to various firms and individuals by previous TDP government for throwaway prices.
Jagan is learnt to have now decided to sack "Brand Ambassador of Amaravathi" appointed by former CM Chandrababu Naidu in January 2018.
Naidu appointed Ambula Vaishnavi, a Class IX student, as the brand ambassador of Amaravathi.
Naidu was impressed at the 'generous nature' of the girl after she donated Rs 1 lakh for construction of Amaravathi.
She also adopted two government schools in Krishna district and is making efforts to improve infrastructure facilities in these schools.
Naidu felt that this would encourage more and more people to contribute for Amaravathi voluntarily.
Several organisations and general public also praised Vaishnavi for her social service at this young age.
However, it is learnt, what angered Jagan was that Vaishnavi making a vow to Lord Venkateshwara Swamy of Tirupathi in April this year, just 10 days before Assembly elections polling, that she would trek the seven hills on foot if Chandrababu Naidu becomes CM once again in 2019 polls.
Vaishnavi sent an offering of Rs 1 lakh to God as part of her vow.
She also sent a letter to TTD JEO B Lakshmikantham stating that she had actually planned to donate Rs 1 lakh on the day of filing of nomination by Naidu, but could not do so due to exams.
YSRCP leaders who are angry at the girl complained to Jagan against her and requested him to sack her from brand ambassador post.
Though government is paying nothing for her to continue as brand ambassador, it was giving her official recognition.
Jagan has decided to remove her as brand ambassador and a GO in this regard is expected any time.
