I never said I'd dismiss KCR govt, says Governor

Telangana Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan on Monday clarified that she had never threatened to dismiss the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the state.

She told media that her statement was distorted in the media.

“I never said I would dismiss the TRS government. It was wrongly reported in the media,” she said.

Tamilsai told reporters in New Delhi a few days ago that if she had really opposed the KCR government, she would have kept the file on the commencement of budget session pending for 15 days and the assembly would have got dissolved automatically. Readmore!

She said in several other states, the chief ministers were giving due respect to Raj Bhavan, though they differed with the Governors of their respective states.

“I am only a Governor not a politician. I don’t need to play politics as long as I am a Governor,” she said.

Referring to the criticism by the TRS leaders, Tamilisai said they were making baseless allegations that she was acting like a BJP leader.

“The ministers and MLAs are making wild allegations indiscriminately without showing any evidence and trolling me in the social media using old videos,” she regretted.

The Governor wondered whether meeting people and trying to get their problems solved were her crime.

“They are misunderstanding me for meeting the people. It is my responsibility to attend to people’s issues in whichever post I am in,” she said.

On the protocol issue, Tamilisai said the Centre would take its own course.

“I have been touring tribal areas to learn their issues and do good for them. Such meetings should not be seen in political angle,” she added.
