Firebrand Lawyer Quits TJS!

Firebrand advocate Rachna Reddy, who shot to limelight by filing a series of cases against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government questioning redesigning of various irrigation projects and forcible land acquisition, was even targeted by none other than chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, created a sensation of sorts on Sunday.

Rachna Reddy, who was one of the founder members of the Telangana Jana Samithi of Prof M Kodandaram, submitted her resignation from the party alleging that the latter had meekly surrendered to the Congress party in the name of Maha Kootami.

Along with her, Marri Aditya Reddy, son of former Congress minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, also resigned from the TJS.

Rachna Reddy came down heavily on Kodandaram for being selfish in joining hands with the Congress party and destroyed the political future of several candidates who had believed his leadership. Readmore!

“Do you think you have become a king by taking the post of Maha Kootami convenor? Why didn’t you come out of the alliance, when the TJS was not given enough seats?” she asked.

Stating that there were political brokers in the Congress party, she said whether the TJS had taken a handful of seats only to lose the elections.

“What is the purpose of floating a political party? You have wasted a lot of time in the name of discussions in five star hotels. Your party leaders were sold out for the sake of money. There is no social justice in distribution of tickets,” she alleged.

Rachna Reddy said the alliance partners of Maha Kootami had no proper mix.

“There is an unhealthy environment in the Maha Kootami. I don’t think it will come to power. Kodandaram is losing in the hands of the Congress party. Some leaders have sold party tickets like vegetables,” she said.
