Don't Call Venky Mama A Multi-Starrer: Chay

Naga Chaitanya is very fortunate to feature in two giant multi-starrers- Manam with entire Akkineni family and Venky Mama with his real-life uncle Venkatesh.

Venky Mama also marks his first time association with Suresh Productions.

Naga Chaitanya says both Suresh Mama and Venky Mama are his pillar of support.

“I learnt a lot from Suresh mama as a silent observer. He involves in every aspect of filmmaking. And from Venky Mama I learnt how to behave on sets. He’s so positive that he has no haters,” says he. Readmore!

The common feature between Chay and Venky is as the former says both are quiet and reserved persons.

Chay makes it clear that they didn’t plan but the project happened because it perhaps is written in his destiny.

“Suresh mama usually sends me scripts as a solo hero, but nothing was materialized. Finally, we liked the story of Venky Mama and it took long time to lock the final script,” affirms Chay adding “Story became the plus point, but I’m not the plus point to the story.”

Chaitanya states that the army officer he played in the film is the most challenging role in his career.

Chay doesn’t like calling Venky Mama as a multi-starrer.

“Please don’t treat it as a multi-starrer. I just acted alongside my uncle. I’m a big fan of him and I’ve so much respect for him.”

The film has no villains and Chaitanya informs horoscope is actually the villain of the film.

He affirmed that Samantha watched the film and she liked it thoroughly. “She connected well to the second half.”

Coming to next projects, Naga Chaitanya is presently doing Sekhar Kammula’s tentatively titled film Love story which has completed 40 % of shoot. Bangarraju is in pre-production stages. He also has a film with Dil Raju and others, but script hasn’t yet locked.
