Cops To Do Encounter To Close Twin Murders Case?

The murder of an advocate couple in broad day light right on the busy Peddapalli road in Telangana triggered a major uproar in the lawyers’ community in the state.

The murders of high court advocate Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife P V Nagamani have also evoked sharp reaction from the opposition parties, because the prime accused in the murders happens to be a powerful Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and a close associate of former TRS legislator from Manthani Putta Madhu.

Since the high court chief justice bench itself has taken up the case suo motu and ordered the police to investigate it thoroughly to bring the culprits to book, the TRS leadership is naturally in deep trouble. 

More so, the murders have badly damaged the reputation of the TRS in the north-Telangana, where the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party is gradually growing. So, the TRS has to do something seriously. Readmore!

This led to the talk that the TRS government might instruct the police to eliminate the accused in encounters, so that the issue gets diverted and the police could close the case at the earliest.

“So far, not a single TRS leaders has spoken about the incident, let alone condemning it. This has led to suspicion that the government has some plans to get out of the negative talk,” BJP state president Bandi Sanjay said.

He said one won’t be surprised if one or two accused in the case are eliminated in police encounters, so that the issue would be closed once and for all and the government could claim that it had done justice to the family of the advocates.
