The CID sleuths have almost completed the investigation into the alleged insider trading in Amaravati by the previous TDP government.
Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, while in Opposition, alleged insider trading in Amaravati, where the TDP leaders had advance information about the capital location and have purchased lands at throwaway price and made huge money after it was named as capital.
The YSR Congress alleged that the capital location information was leaked to Ministers Narayana, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Prathipati Pullarao, MPs Galla Jayadev and Murali Mohan, Union Minister Y S Chowdary, MLAs Dhulipala Narendra Kumar and many others.
With the advance leaked information, it is alleged that these leaders have purchased huge extent of lands from the farmers at cheap price, as the farmers had no clue of the capital location. These lands were then given to the government in land pooling and thus benefited.
The CID had gathered information directly from the farmers, from the offices of the sub-registrars on the land deals before the announcement of Amaravati as capital.
The report is likely to be submitted to the chief minister in the next couple of weeks following which the government is planning to resume the capital works, while pursuing the action to be taken against those involved in the insider trade.
The CID sleuths found that this ‘insider trading’ is said to have happened in Nelapadu, Thulluru, Dondapadu, Inavolu, Sakhamuru, Neerukonda, Kuragallu, Undavalli and Venkatapalem villages, where the key government buildings were proposed by the TDP government at a later date.
