Centre begins targeting TRS financial roots!

The onslaught by the Bharatiya Janata Party national leadership on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi appears to have begun.

At a time when TRS supremo and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is challenging the Centre to unleash the central investigation agencies like CBI and Enforcement Directorate against him, the Modi government has begun targeting his financial roots.

The systematic revelation of the names of KCR’s daughter and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha and other TRS leaders in connection with the Delhi excise policy scandal has clearly revealed the strategy of the Centre to not only malign the image of KCR and his family, but also to disconnect their major financial links.

The CBI has deliberately leaked the names of Kavitha, her husband’s relatives and other TRS leaders including a Rajya Sabha member, a TRS legislator and their connections with liquor lobby that is ruling the roost in Delhi. Readmore!

BJP MPs Parvesh Varma and Manjinder Singh who spoke to the media produced evidences how Kavitha and others had directly participated in the meetings convened by Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in order to formulate the liquor policy.

The MPs also pointed out a strong liquor trader had booked a suite in a five-star hotel in Delhi for six months and it was here that Kavitha and others had regularly attended the meetings with liquor lobby. She had helped the liquor lobby fund the Aam Admi campaign in Punjab, they alleged.

According to BJP sources, the Centre has started disclosing the details of the liquor dealings of KCR’s family members, only after obtaining pucca information.

“The CBI is waiting for further instructions from the Centre. Then you can see how more skeletons will be tumbling out of the TRS cupboards,” the BJP source added.
