CBI Should Probe Attack On Jagan

YSR Congress party on Friday filed a petition in Hyderabad High Court asking for an inquiry by a central investigation agency like CBI to probe into the alleged murder attempt on party president and leader of opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday.

Senior YSRC leader and former Ongole MP Y V Subba Reddy filed the petition stating that his party suspected conspiracy by Telugu Desam Party government and police machinery in the case and hence, there was a need for a fair investigation to bring out the truth.

Separate but similar petitions were filed by two other individuals Anil Kumar and Amarnath Reddy asking for urgent orders for a CBI probe. YSRC clarified that both of them were not related to either YSRC or Jagan.

Subba Reddy, who called on Jagan at the hospital in the morning, said it was nothing but a murder attempt on Jagan, but the Telugu Desam Party government was trying to dilute the investigation. Readmore!

“How can Director General of Police R P Thakur declare that Srinivas was a fan of Jagan, within an hour of the incident? How can the TDP leaders produce a 11-month old flex banner with the pictures of Srinivas and TDP?” he asked.

The YSRC leader also pointed out that the 10-page letter purported to have been written by the assailant was released several hours later.

“The letter was obviously a fabricated one meant for diluting the investigation,” he said.

Reddy said the so-called Operation Garuda was actually a conspiracy of TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to defame the opposition parties.

“The attack on Jagan was the handiwork of Naidu who sought to throw blame on Jagan saying that the latter was seeking sympathy. Naidu is accused no. 1 in this case, while the DGP is accused no. 2,” he alleged.
