AP CID Gives Second Chance To Ramoji

The Andhra Pradesh CID officials have granted another opportunity to Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, the chairman of Margadarsi Chit Funds Private Limited, to appear for questioning.

The CID has issued a second notice to both Cherukuri Ramoji Rao and his daughter-in-law Cherukuri Sailaja Kiran, requiring them to present themselves at the CID office in Vijayawada this time.

Ramoji Rao has been instructed to appear before the CID officials on August 16, while Sailaja Kiran is scheduled for August 17.

Previously, they were summoned to appear before the CID in Guntur on July 5 of this year. However, they did not comply with the summons, citing health reasons. Readmore!

The CID's investigation revealed that Ramoji Rao had diverted funds from Margadarsi Chit Funds Private Limited to other business ventures.

Ramoji Rao redirected public deposits from Margadarsi to his other business undertakings.

The CID has already seized several hundred crore rupees from Margadarsi and is likely to take further action in this regard.

Ramoji Rao has been engaged in an ongoing political battle against the YSR Congress party and its government.

Rather than addressing him politically, the government and the party have focused on uncovering irregularities in his business, namely Margadarsi.

Despite Ramoji Rao's continuous political feud with the YSR Congress, the government, led by the same party, has taken a stance against him in the Margadarsi case.

It remains to be seen how the State government will respond if Ramoji Rao once again fails to comply with this questioning.

Sources indicate that if they fail to attend the questioning in Vijayawada, the AP CID may consider arresting him and his daughter-in-law.
