The outburst of Union Home Minister Amit Shah against the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, during a public meeting in Vizag on Sunday, has provided ample fodder for the TDP-allied Yellow Media to attack Jagan and fabricate anti-Jagan stories in their newspapers and TV channels.
While the Yellow Media was already celebrating BJP National President JP Nadda's scathing attack on the Jagan government during the public meeting held at Srikalahasti the day before, their joy knew no bounds after Amit Shah took potshots at the Jagan government.
ABN Andhrajyothy and TV5 channels continue to repeat Amit Shah's comments, such as "Jagan government did nothing in the last four years except corruption" and "Jagan government should feel ashamed," on their news bulletins even after 24 hours.
There is no need to mention how ABN anchor P. Venkata Krishna and TV5 anchors Sambasiva Rao and Murthy will engage in Jagan bashing under the guise of a "big debate" on their channels in the coming days.
Even though they are not relevant to Telangana politics, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy newspapers prominently covered Amit Shah's criticism against Jagan in their Telangana editions.
The Yellow Media derives sadistic pleasure from Amit Shah's criticism against Jagan without realizing the BJP's hidden agenda behind it.
The BJP has no stakes in Andhra Pradesh, so what difference does it make if Amit Shah criticizes Jagan? YSRCP is not part of the BJP-led NDA. Jagan only maintains friendly ties with the BJP. The BJP has nothing to gain in AP.
Jagan knows very well that the BJP would have to depend on YSRCP if it falls short of a majority to form the government at the Centre after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. There is no need for YSRCP to rely on the BJP for political gains in Andhra Pradesh.
