Allu Arjun, not a soldier fighting on borders: Revanth

Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy on Friday strongly defended the police action regarding the arrest of Telugu actor Allu Arjun, stating they had done their job and found fault with the actor for creating trouble at the Sandhya Theatre, leading to the death of a 35-year-old woman in the stampede on December 4.

Participating in a chat conducted by a national television channel in Delhi, Revanth Reddy said, “Allu Arjun didn’t simply watch the film and leave. He came out from the car’s sunroof, cheering and greeting fans who were celebrating his movie’s release. This caused the situation to get out of control.”

He felt that the actor should have got the special show screened at his home theatre or separately at a theatre, instead of watching it along with crowd.

“Tomorrow, if the boy comes out of coma and asks for his mother, what should we tell him?” he asked. Readmore!

Revanth Reddy said film was a commercial venture and the actors take big money to act in the film.

“He is not a soldier who fought on India-Pakistan border to have achieved something for the country. He has done a film and earned big money,” he said.

He also claimed that although Allu Arjun's wife Allu Sneha Reddy was a relative to him, he didn't let the family come in between taking the decision to arrest the actor.
