After Anam, Vasantha getting ready to face axe?

A few days after the YSR Congress party leadership sacking rebellion party MLA from Venkatagiri in Nellore district Anam Ramanarayana Reddy from the party in-charge post, it is likely to be the turn of yet another MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad from Mylavaram in Krishna district.

For the last few days, Krishna Prasad, too, has been giving hints that he might not continue in the party for a long time by making controversial statements causing embarrassment to the high command.

Apparently feeling suffocated in the party, Krishna Prasad is not happy with the way MLAs and ministers from other constituencies dictating terms to him and poking their noses in the Mylavaram constituency. So, he has started making critical comments against them, albeit indirectly.

“Somehow, I am getting the feeling that I have made a mistake by entering politics and becoming MLA. I am not able to do politics of vengeance by taking a group of vagabonds along with me, like some of my colleagues are doing,” the MLA said. Readmore!

Stating that he had inherited dignified politics from his father Vasantha Nageshwara Rao, the YSRC leader said he had realised that such kind of politics had become outdated at present.

“If I have to sustain in politics, I have to behave like a rowdy. That is why, I ended up being an old-time politician,” he said.

He made it clear that he would not resort to vindictive politics against his political opponents in the constituency by foisting false cases against them but would maintain dignity in politics.

“That is why, my own party leaders are unhappy with me,” Krishna Prasad said.

Sources said there had been pressure on Krishna Prasad to file cases against former minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, who represented Mylavaram in the past. But he is said to be rejecting such suggestions and wants to keep away from controversies.

The YSRC leadership, however, is of the view that unless the party leaders are aggressive in repulsing the opposition, they cannot win the elections.

It is suspecting that Krishna Prasad has come under pressure from the caste lobby and hence, has been friendly with the TDP leaders.

“It is only a matter of time that Krishna Prasad will face the axe on the lines of Anam, as the party feels such soft leaders are not fit for the style of functioning of YSRC bosses,” sources said.
