ABV to join politics, after retirement?

Finally, senior IPS officer and former intelligence chief of Andhra Pradesh A B Venkateshwar Rao, retired from his service, within hours of being reinstated as the commissioner of printing and stationary in the capacity of director general of police.

He came to the office in full uniform in the morning, assumed charge, interacted with media persons and later in the evening, he relinquished his service on attaining the superannuation.

Speaking to his supporters and office staff who felicitated him, ABV said he had joined the IPS only to serve people and fight against injustice, illegality and oppression.

“I always stood by justice and performed my duty with dedication and commitment,” he said. Readmore!

ABV thanked all his supporters and colleagues who had stood by him in troubled times.

“I shall continue to be in the service of the people even after my retirement. I shall fight against injustice and oppression, take on the cruel and protect the weak,” he said.

He hinted at entering active public life in a short time, saying he was hopeful that he would get an opportunity to serve the people after his retirement.

Interestingly, soon after his retirement, ABV was flooded with the Telugu Desam Party leaders and supporters, who felicitated him. TDP official spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhi honoured him with a shawl and garland.

He posted a photo on his social media platform, saying: “With the “True Hero” of the Indian Police Service. Director General Sri A B Venkateswara Rao on his retirement day. But, as we all wish our beloved ABV garu should be back in action soon in the service of the state,” Pattabhi said, indicating that ABV might be taken into the TDP in a suitable post!
