YSRCP leader Chevireddy Mohit Reddy arrested

In a significant development, YSRCP youth leader and former TUDA chairman Chevireddy Mohit Reddy was arrested on Saturday evening at Bangalore airport.

A police team from Tirupati detained him as he was about to board a flight to Dubai.

Police sources stated that Mohit Reddy's arrest is linked to the violent incident on May 14th at Padmavati Mahila University, where the strong room containing EVMs was located.

Sources also indicated that Mohit Reddy will be presented in court after being brought to Tirupati.

Mohit Reddy ran as the YSRCP candidate for the Chandragiri assembly. His father, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, is a two-term MLA and former government whip, closely associated with YSRCP supremo Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that Mohit Reddy was heading to Dubai to attend the wedding of a classmate with whom he studied in London and was scheduled to return on Monday.

It is noteworthy that 34 individuals have already been arrested in connection with the May 14th incident, and three police officers have been suspended.

YSRCP sources also mentioned that Mohit Reddy was expected to return on Monday after attending his classmate's wedding and was scheduled to visit Shirdi with party activists from Chandragiri on Tuesday.
