YSRCP disowns Borugadda, but he says Jai Jagan!

YSR Congress party, the opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, sought to disassociate itself from controversial rowdy sheeter and self-styled president of Republic Party of India Borugadda Anil Kumar, but the latter claimed that the police were targeting him only because he was the supporter of YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Borugadda was recently arrested by the Guntur police for allegedly making inflammatory comments and threatening to eliminate Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan within hours if given the “green signal” by Jagan.

However, the immediate reason for Borugadda’s arrest was in connection with a 2021 case where he allegedly threatened a pastor Karlapudi Prakash for money.

After change in government, Borugadda went into hiding, reportedly staying in other states before quietly returning to Guntur, where he was arrested. Readmore!

He was given a three-day custody of the police, who questioned him over his connections with the YSRCP leaders.

While he was being sent back to judicial remand on Tuesday, he said he had not committed any crime and he was being harassed by the police just because he was Jagan’s man.

“It is a political harassment because I am Jagan’s followers. They are targeting me because I am a Dalit and an educated leader. They are resorting to my character assassination,” he alleged and raised “Jai Jagan” slogans while getting into the police van.
