Won't respond on TDP-BJP pact: Purandeshwari

A confusion is prevailing in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Andhra Pradesh unit after its alliance partner Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan unilaterally announcing alliance with the Telugu Desam Party in the coming elections.

Even as both the TDP and Jana Sena Party are coordinating with each and other and are all set to form a coordination committee to take the fight against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government forward, the BJP still remains a silent spectator.

In spite of all the rapid developments, BJP state president Daggubati Purandeshwari continues to say that her party still has an alliance with the Jana Sena Party and is refusing to comment on the pact between the TDP and the Jana Sena.

“I don’t want to respond to Pawan Kalyan’s announcement on the alliance with the TDP.  It is his wish. But as far as we are concerned, we think we are in alliance with the Jana Sena. It is for him to comment on our friendship,” Purandeshwari said, after the BJP’s core committee meeting held in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Readmore!

She reiterated that it is the party high command which will decide whether the party has to go with the TDP and Jana Sena or independently.

“We cannot talk about the alliances now. We have taken the Jana Sena chief’s proposal to the notice of our Delhi bosses. It is for them to decide,” she said.

Apparently, the BJP leaders expressed anger over Pawan Kalyan’s unilateral decision to support the TDP.

“We have to make our stand clear, instead of dodging the issue for long. Let us follow our own path and ignore Pawan,” a senior BJP leader said.
