Will Ramoji Be A Failed Media Man?

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had categorically said that the 2024 election would be held between the YSR Congress and the yellow media.

He named Eenadu chief Cherukuri Ramoji Rao as the main opponent for the YSR Congress, pushing aside Andhra Jyothi and TV5 to the second place.

He also said that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is nothing and the media is fighting the battle on behalf of the TDP.

It appears true as one watches the yellow media, particularly Eenadu daily. Readmore!

While Andhra Jyothi and TV5 have their own cooked up stories against the YSR Congress and Jagan Mohan Reddy on a daily basis, the Eenadu has a separate style.

Eenadu is coming up with front page banner editorials against the YSR Congress leaders and the chief minister.

What was expected from the opposition TDP is now coming up straight from the Eenadu desk.

Usually, the media reports what politicians or political parties say – allegations and condemnations.

The Media has a small space in the editorial column, where it could say anything and that becomes the face of the particular media.

But, in Andhra Pradesh, Eenadu takes the editorial space to the entire paper and uses the same for the political gains of the TDP.

Every front page report is now an editorial in Eenadu and it is aimed at Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress.

While the same Eenadu is silent in Telangana towards the ruling party there, it is busy spitting venom on Andhra Pradesh government, its chief minister.

This sort of journalism worked for Ramoji Rao in the 1980s when there was no alternative media.

But, this is the social media era and the old man is forgetting the fact that people are wise enough to judge what he is saying in his newspaper.

If people still believe what Eenadu writes, the TDP would have won 151 seats in the 2019 general elections and the YSR Congress would have been restricted to 23 seats.

However, Ramoji Rao is not learning the lessons or not realizing the presence of social media.

If he continues to be a shadow political party and spread lies, no doubt, he would end his career as a failed media man.
