Why This Sudden Meeting Of KCR With Modi?

At a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana has stepped up the attack on Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao following the big show in the recent Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, the sudden decision of KCR to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised many eyebrows.

The chief minister left for New Delhi by a special flight from Begumpet airport on Friday on a three-day visit to the national capital.

The meeting was not scheduled well in advance but was taken all of a sudden. Secondly, it is happening within a couple of days of the TRS joining the massive protests of the opposition parties against Modi government’s controversial agriculture bills.

What is more surprising is the way Modi gave appointment to KCR. In the past, KCR had made a couple of attempts to meet the Prime Minister, but did not succeed. This time, he reportedly got an appointment instantly. Readmore!

So, nobody is able to understand what is going on between the TRS and the BJP. Has the TRS decided to soften its stand towards the BJP or is it a strategy of KCR to confuse the people who appear to be inclining towards the BJP.

According to party sources, KCR will discuss long-pending issues pertaining to the State with Modi and other the Union Ministers in New Delhi.

Apart from meeting Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Harideep Singh Puri, the Chief Minister is likely to visit the site allocated by the Central government for setting up the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party office in New Delhi.

Rao is also expected to meet two other Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Nitin Gadkari. He is expected to return to Hyderabad on Sunday.
