Why is TDP more curious about Vijayamma!

As the YSR Congress party led by Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to hold its plenary at Guntur after a gap of five years, the Telugu Desam Party and its friendly media sought to launch a mind game by dragging his mother Y S Vijayamma into the issue.

Even as the YSRC senior leaders made it clear that Vijayamma would be attending the party plenary in the capacity of honorary president, the TDP leaders have started a campaign saying she was asked to resign from her post, ahead of plenary.

The TDP leaders are confidently saying that Vijayamma won’t attend the plenary, as Jagan had forced her to submit her resignation as honorary president.

“He will not hesitate to betray even his mother and sister, who believed him. Since Vijayamma had given several promises to people during the last elections, Jagan has the responsibility to fulfil the same. As he has not done it, he is making her scapegoat,” party spokesman G V Reddy said. Readmore!

Another TDP leader K Sravan said since Vijayamma was moving closely with her daughter Y S Sharmila in the YSR Telangana party, Jagan is not able to tolerate his mother.

“It is going to be big moral blow to the party. In fact, Vijayamma played a big role in the victory of Jagan. How can a man who has no respect for his mother and sister, expected to do justice to the people?” Sravan asked.

Sources said a resolution would be passed at the plenary declaring Jagan Mohan Reddy as the permanent president of YSRCP.

“As per the party constitution, elections to the post of party president would have to be held once in two years. In order to avoid this process a resolution would be passed declaring Jagan as the permanent president of YSRCP,” the party leader said.

If it happens, the post of honorary president will cease to exist, sources added.
