Who Is Conducting These Pre-Poll Surveys?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed at the party MLA candidates’ meeting on Sunday that the party is going to win more than 100 seats, as per the latest surveys conducted by the private agencies and state and central intelligence agencies.

He said the Congress party will not get more than a single digit, while the remaining would be shared by the MIM and the BJP.

Within no time, a completely different survey surfaced in the social media circles, attributing it to the popular financial daily Economic Times and ET-Now channel on the possible outcome of the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana.

According to this survey, the TRS will get 35-40 seats, while the Congress would get 50-57 seats. The TDP will get a dozen seats and the remaining would be shared by the TJS and MIM. It even went on to predict that the BJP would draw a blank in the assembly elections. Readmore!

The report in the social media says ET Now-ET survey was always near accurate.

During the recent Karnataka assembly elections, too, the survey predicted a tough fight between the Congress and the BJP and the Janata Dal (S) would become the kingmaker.

“So, the ET survey enjoys the credibility,” the report said.

One fails to understand who had disclosed this report, as neither the ET nor ET Now has carried any story on the pre-poll survey in Telangana as of now. There is a suspicion that it could be the plant of the Congress party.

At the same time, there is also a doubt, as if the Congress wants to plant the survey, it would have given absolute majority to the party, rather than just 50-57 seats. What is more, there was no denial from the ET or ET Now on this survey.

In the past, too, there was a similar survey attributing it to NDTV, but the channel people immediately denied of conducting any such survey!
