What Will Pawan Do, If YSRC Joins NDA?

YSRC party president and Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy landed in Delhi on Monday evening and is all set to meet PM Narendra Modi amidst speculations that YSRC might join the NDA government at the Centre shortly.

This will virtually seal an alliance between the YSRC and the Bharatiya Janata Party, though it is not exactly an electoral alliance between the two. If the deal works out, BJP will be a friendly party of the YSRC and will lose the moral right to criticise Jagan or his government.

Now, the question is what will happen to the alliance with Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan.

Hitherto, the agreement between BJP and Jana Sena was that both of them should fight all the elections together and put up a fight against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government on issues of public concern. Readmore!

In fact, the impression given by the state BJP leaders all these days was that the BJP would project Pawan Kalyan as the chief ministerial candidate of the alliance in the next elections and thereby consolidate the Kapu vote bank.

There was also an attempt to rope in Pawan’s mega brother Chiranjeevi to cash in on his image and charisma to get the people’s votes.

But now, if the BJP joins hands with the YSRC, Pawan Kalyan would end up a joker in the pack. It is not sure whether he will severe his links with the BJP and put up a lone fight in the next elections or go back into the fold of Telugu Desam Party headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.

It remains to be seen what the future course of action of Jana Sena chief would be, if the YSRC-BJP deal works out.
