Senior YSR Congress party leader and two-time MLA from Visakhapatnam Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao passed away this evening, after being affected by Coronavirus.
Though Dronamraju was cured of Covid-19 a few days ago, he had still been suffering from post-Corona complications and his condition deteriorated in the last couple of days. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam
At present, Dronamraju had been the chairman of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) for the last one year.
He was the first chairman of VMRDA, which was created after abolition of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA).
Dronamraju Srinivas was the son of veteran Congress leader and ex-MP Dronamraju Satyanarayana, who had made his own mark in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Like his father, he, too, was associated with the Congress party for quite some time, but joined the YSRC before the last assembly elections.
Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep sorrow and shock over the demise of Dronamraju Srinivas, a soft spoken and committed party leader.
“Dronamraju family has always played a key role in North Andhra and the passing away of Srinivas is heartrending,” Jagan said and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
