Vijayashanthi targets Kiran Kumar Reddy!

Actress and senior BJP Telangana leader Vijayashanthi created a stir in the BJP Telangana unit on Friday when she abruptly walked out of the meeting held at the BJP Telangana head office in Hyderabad.

The meeting was convened on the occasion of Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy taking charge as the BJP Telangana president.

Former Chief Minister of Undivided Andhra Pradesh, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, was sharing the dais with Kishan Reddy and other senior leaders.

Vijayashanthi met Kishan Reddy, congratulated him, and left the venue even while the meeting was still in progress. This led to speculations about why Vijayashanthi left the meeting unexpectedly. Readmore!

Later, Vijayashanthi took to Twitter to clarify why she left the meeting midway.

Without explicitly mentioning Kiran Kumar Reddy's name, she stated, "I feel discomfort at the presence of anyone who was anti-Telangana and vehemently opposed the formation of Telangana State. I can't be a part of such meetings."

Vijayashanthi's comments clearly indicated that she was targeting Kiran Kumar Reddy, who, as the CM of Undivided AP during the process of Telangana State's formation, opposed the bifurcation of AP until the last minute.

He even quit the CM post and Congress, opposing the Congress high command's decision in favor of the formation of Telangana State in 2014.

Vijayashanthi's walkout from the meeting and her subsequent tweet created a flutter in the Telangana BJP unit, at a time when everything seemed to have settled down after the exit of Bandi Sanjay from the BJP Telangana president post and the appointment of Kishan Reddy in his place.

However, the latest episode proves that dissidence within the Telangana BJP is yet to calm down and is expected to create more troubles in the party ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled in December this year.
