It is already known that Writer Boggula Srinivas, who authored the controversial book "Pawan Kalyan Hatao… Politics Bachao", died under suspicious circumstances on Sunday.
His car reportedly plunged into the Paleru canal near Kusumanchi in Khammam district. Srinivas, who was seated in the back seat, was found dead inside the vehicle.
The incident has raised several doubts as the driver abandoned the car and fled from the spot soon after the accident.
Police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched a search to trace the driver.
The exact cause of the incident is yet to be established. Srinivas had faced serious threats earlier after writing the book in 2014, which criticised Pawan Kalyan’s entry into politics and created a major controversy at the time. He was also arrested then in connection with the issue.
In this connection, the deceased’s brother alleged that it was clearly a murder and not an accident.
Family members lodged a complaint with the police stating that Srinivas had injuries on his body and that the incident was being portrayed as a road accident after killing him. They also expressed suspicion over the driver fleeing from the scene.
Following the complaint, police registered a case and are investigating the matter based on CCTV footage and other evidence.
