The pre-release event of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy in Ongole was a grand success with fans attending it in big numbers.
B Gopal who made blockbuster faction movies with Balakrishna was invited as the chief guest.
Veera Simha Reddy marks the third individual movie for Shruti Haasan with Gopichand Malineni and Mythri Movie Makers. She called Malineni her brother. Shruti also danced on the stage.
Shruti Haasan said, "I really feel blessed to work with Gopichand Malineni again and again. Balayya is everybody’s favorite. He is the coolest and I heard his name many times in the pub at night. He's so positive and is the real lion with a golden heart.” She also uttered Jai Balayya slogan."
Producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar expressed their happiness for getting the opportunity to work with Balakrishna finally after 8 after foraying into the industry.
“The movie will exceed your expectations,” said they.
Gopichand Malineni recalled an incident of watching Samara Simha Reddy as a die-hard fan of Balakrishna in 1999 and why he was arrested on the day.
“What more can I expect in life, after directing my favorite star Balakrishna garu. I watched him closely every day on set like a fan with one eye and as a director with another eye. I wanted to present Balakrishna garu in a way fans wish to see him. I will have lifelong memories. I can never forget the support of Mythri Movies Naveen garu and Ravi gaaru. They provided everything needed for the movie. They stood like a backbone. This is my 3rd movie with Shruti and she’s my lucky charm. Her comedy timing and dances will be extraordinary. Honey Rose played an extraordinary role.
Duniya Vijay is a big star in Kannada. When I approached him, his movie Salaga was a blockbuster, though he immediately gave his nod to play the villain. Varalaxmi will fight with Balayya Babu as Bhanumathi. VSS is the result of 1000 fans working together.”
Balakrishna commenced his speech by thanking his father NTR and then wished everyone a Happy New Year and Happy Sankranthi. He teasingly called the Ongole technicians who worked for the movie Ongolians.
“Ongolian B Gopal gave many blockbusters to me. When we were thinking about the special guest for the event, I felt B Gopal is the only one who can bring the eldership to it. Veera Simha Reddy is the collaboration of two Kracks. I feel proud to work with him. He too is an Ongolian. My next is also with a Mangolian- Anil Ravipudi. I did a lot of movies, but I still am craving to do different movies. For those who felt I’m restricted to movies, I did Unstoppable for Aha which became the biggest of all shows. Akhanda became a hit and Veera Simha Reddy will remain in history.
Shruti Haasan is a successful artist and Honey Rose’s character is a surprise package. Though Vijay is a big star in Kannada, he accepted to play the villain in the movie. Veera Simha Reddy will undoubtedly become a blockbuster.”
