Reflecting on his career journey, Suriya shared, “I’ve experienced many ups and downs. Success feels rewarding only when you’ve felt the sting of failures.”
Discussing how he changed his approach to handling criticism, he revealed, “About five to six years ago, I used to react with intense anger, much like my character Rolex in Vikram. I’d get furious over a negative tweet or comment. But forgiveness is a beautiful thing.”
Suriya emphasized that the best response to negativity is to spread love.
“Regardless of what others might say, we should only share positivity. Reacting to every negative comment is a waste of precious time.”
The actor credited Kanguva director Siva for helping him reshape his outlook, noting that Siva’s approach to life inspired him.
In an interview with PTI, Suriya also expressed his long-standing wish for Indian cinema to create epic films akin to Braveheart or Lord of the Rings.
“We’ve all admired films like Braveheart, Game of Thrones, and Apocalypto, watching them multiple times. I’ve always wondered when we’ll see similar storytelling in India.”
At a recent press event, Suriya described Kanguva as more than just an action film.
“It’s not only about swords and battles; it’s filled with deep emotions. The reason behind the conflict between five islands is unique, and forgiveness lies at the heart of the story—it’s the purest form of love.”
Kanguva, starring Suriya in dual roles, along with Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, is set for release on November 14.
