It is now confirmed that overseas audiences have totally distanced from Puri Jagannadh's movies. Other than "Temper", none of his recent films didn't even receive decent openings in USA.
His latest release "Paisa Vasool" starring Balakrishna as its lead hero raked in below $200k in its opening weekend. On Sunday, the film scored a mere $7000. Such a shameful collection.
#PaisaVasool: Fri 146k, Sat 27k, Sun 7k (apprx) Total Weekend Gross: $180k (Rs 1.15 cr)
At this rate, the film will end its lifetime gross with just above $200k. The film needs more than half million dollar collection for the distributor to get to break-even stage, which now seems an impossible task.
The distributor will be losing more than 50 per cent on its investment. The film was bought for Rs 2cr (including expenses).
On the other hand, "Arjun Reddy" in its second weekend did perform better than "Paisa Vasool" as Vijay Devarakonda’s film has added another $265 (apprx) to its tally. The film now leads with $1.41 million.
