Spotlight: Tollywood Stars Behind Reddys

Many fans tend to divide their favorite stars by caste. Some people even identify their favorite heroes and powerful film personalities with their own caste.

However, the interesting reality is that such feelings rarely exist in the hearts of the stars themselves.

Many actors in the film industry have chosen intercaste marriages and continue to do so. In fact, except for NTR, Nani and Nithiin, very few actors appear to have married within their own caste.

Reddy heroes have been relatively few in the Telugu film industry from the beginning. There may be more character artists from that community, but the number of lead heroes is quite limited. Readmore!

In contrast, Kammas and Kapus are present in good numbers as heroes in the Telugu film industry. However, many of these heroes now have Reddy women as their better halves. In a way, Reddy women have become part of the families of a majority of Tollywood heroes.

Allu Arjun married Sneha Reddy; Allu Sirish married Nayanika Reddy; Ram Charan married Upasana Reddy; Sharwanand married Rakshita Reddy; Manchu Vishnu married Viranica Reddy; Manchu Manoj married Mounika Reddy; and the latest buzz is that Bellamkonda Srinivas is set to marry Kavya Reddy.

Of course, this does not mean that heroes are choosing only Reddy brides. There are several marriages with brides from other communities as well.

Varun Tej married Lavanya Tripathi, who is a Brahmin. Naga Chaitanya married Brahmin actress Shobhita Dhulipala.

Akhil married a Muslim bride. Venkatesh’s daughter married a Reddy groom, and producer Ashwini Dutt’s two sons-in-law belong to the Raju and Reddy communities.

Mahesh Babu married Mumbai-born Namrata Shirodkar. Rana Daggubati married North Indian entrepreneur Miheeka Bajaj. Kiran Abbavaram married North Indian bride Rahasya Gorak.

Vijay Deverakonda was linked with Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna, and finally, as everyone knows, Pawan Kalyan married a Russian national, making it one of the rare international weddings in Tollywood.
